Every June Long weekend mountain bike riders from around Australia come to Melrose for the Fat Tyre Festival some making this event their “must do ” every year!

This year the Fat Tyre Festival is all about RE-CYCLE!!! LET’S ALL BE KIND TO OUR ENVIRONMENT!

REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE!

Come and celebrate the love of mountain bike riding in Melrose. This June Long weekend mountain bike riders from around Australia come to Melrose for the Fat Tyre Festival! ENJOY the chilled out vibe and non competitive nature of the event. Come to improve your skills, ride trails you wouldn’t normally be allowed to ride on outside festival times, meet new friends and enjoy all the entertainment through out the day and night! With Entertainment Live music on the street and at the local Pubs, Skills Clinics with Escapegoat Adventures, Bike Maintenance class, Bike Fits, Mini Challenges for a chance to win awesome prizes! Guided rides on Advanced trail network. Heaps of activities for the kids, dress up competition, Trash n Treasure stall hosted by the Melrose Primary School, movie night, BMX displays, family rides to Kookaburra Creek Retreat, photography lessons with SBDynamics  PLUS ENJOY YOGA & Craft, food and bike stalls!

Melrose Primary School will set up a Recycle shop so donate your cloths or furniture for others to buy and proceeds will go towards the school, learn about trail sustainability, help with our art sculpture that our local artist will be creating utilizing the bike shops old tubes and tyres,

For the first time GESA ( Gravity Enduro South Australia ) will be coming to Melrose on Sunday 11th June – so as a local you may have a home ground advantage, the course will be released soon! You can enter or watch these guys on the Sunday from 9-2pm. For more info – http://www.gravityendurosa.com/events – If you are competing be sure to buy a Saturday – day pass for the Fat Tyre when registrations open as the GESA fee will include a Festival day pass.

As the GESA riders will be utilising some of the trails we will do our best to organise the programme so there is still plenty to see, do and ride the whole weekend!

Please note – GESA volunteers will start to mark out the trails from Friday however you will still have access to these trails except on Sunday 9-2pm. Riders will be practising on the designated trails however AT ALL TIMES ALL riders need to respect each other on and off the trails. The festival is an inclusive event and everyone needs to be aware that there are riders of all abilities are here to enjoy this family and fun event.

Note: Please register before Wednesday 7th June otherwise there will be a $20 late booking fee for those that register on the day.

REGARDING WET WEATHER
The event will not be cancelled. We will do our best to put on a comparable event, some trails will still be ride-able and entertainment will be available. There will be no refunds however we will be more than happy to re book for the following year!
