But this year we have confirmed some great acts for the kids and secured some awesome volunteers to help you with your bike skills to make your experience on your bike more enjoyable. We will introduce you to our volunteers every week via social media and we will add them to our “Volunteers of FAT TYRE” page but in the meantime, this is what is coming to MELROSE FAT TYRE FESTIVAL!

BMX Skills Clinics and Display @ Melrose Caravan Park

These boys come back year after year and their tricks get better and better! Meet Jye Hayward – local boy from Port Pirie. 26 years old and been riding for 12 years. His favorite style would be big off the bike tricks like Superman’s over a nice big jump. As a kid he watched plenty of Dvds mainly motorbike ones which inspired him to want to do tricks but motorbikes were expensive so he started Bmx and 12 years down the track he is doing this….

Come and watch him and the rest of his friends on the weekend! You’ll have the chance to ask questions and they’ll teach you some tricks or 2 – well maybe no superman….it takes alot of practise to do that!!!

YOGA – BREATH IN AND OUT!!! By Beverly Frensham – Open to public for $10 but free for Fat Tyre Riders. Suitable for all ages and abilities, Beverly will adapt the lesson for you. Will be held at the Melrose Institute on Friday / Saturday and Sunday morning at 8am….

For those concerned about not having the opportunity to ride the Melrose trails on Sunday – don’t be! We will have guided rides on trails GESA are not using and there is plenty of opportunity after 2pm when the race is finished. This event is all about the kids so we are having a ball coming up with the programme! Will post it out next week!
